BROADSTONE IN BLOOM

By the time you read this the flowerbeds and containers on the Broadway will hopefully be looking bright and colourful. Many thanks to the Horticultural Society and Evening W.I. who look after the beds in front of Somerfields and to the shop owners who look after the beds at the otherend of the Broadway. The Grange Rd border continues to be a colourful picture thanks to a local resident and 5th Broadstone Brownies enjoyed replanting the border between the First School and the shops in Dunyeats Rd with Lavender & Rosemary.

Some shops have hanging baskets and tubs outside their premises but it would be nice to see more & not only in Summer they can look colourful in Winter as well.

With a little more help a lot could be done to improve the area in which we all live & shop! Are there any gardeners out there who could spare an hour occasionally to help with planting, weeding and watering? If you can help or have any ideas for improving any other parts of Broadstone please contact me on 695873.
