FANCY A FLUTTER?

There are 3 National Lottery - sorry, that should read LOTTO - Terminals in Broadstone. Goodness knows why a name change shouldbe considered essential to rekindle our enthusiasm for a weekly or twice weekly flutter. Might as well have called it Consignia, except some other bright outfit has already grabbed it. Limit the jackpot to £1m and pay more for five or four correct numbers is my solution to halting the downturn in interest in our National Lottery.

Anyway, as I was saying, there are 3 retailers in Broadstone, all anxious to ease your path to millionaire status. They are situated in the Dunyeats Road Post Office, CandyChocs and N & J Lines Newsagents. In addition you can buy Instants from Hillbourne Stores, One Stop, Somerfields and Martins in the Broadway. Alternatively you can play Littlewoods brand of Lotto at Martins in Dunyeats Road.

If Bingo is your passion, you can indulge it at either the Royal British Legion on Sunday evenings, or at the Conservative Club on Wednesdays and Sundays. Both are situated in Tudor Road, and it is necessary to be a member in order to play. Temporary membership is available to visitors at both clubs. At the Royal British Legion it costs just £3.00 including V.A.T. for 6 weeks.
