NEED SOMEWHERE TO STAY?

I have discovered one hotel and seven houses offering bed and breakfast accommodation. There may be more.

At the Broadstone Hotel, opposite the Leisure Centre, Lynne and Bernard Baldwin have 6 rooms which are available at £30 per twin or £18 per single. Breakfast is not included, but is on offer at £4. Evening meals are not served, but there are restaurants and takeaways within easy walking distance. There is ample parking space.

"Ashdell" at 85 Dunyeats Road, have produced a helpful leaflet which describes the facilities that Ian & Wendy Critchley offer. It can be obtained by phoning 01202 692032 or e-mailing: ian@ashdell.fsnet.co.uk ; alternatively visit their website: http://www.ashdell.co.uk.

There is a map giving clear directions and an assurance of a warm welcome for visitors from overseas, UK and family holiday makers, as well as those on business.

Mrs Josie Oliver regrets that she is unable to accept bookings for Avon House this year owing to family commitments.

Mrs Janet Churchill runs "Bless this Nest" at 40 Dunyeats Road. Her 115 year old house can offer one double bedroom with a king size bed or a twin bedded room. It is a non-smoking house and cat lovers are especially welcome. Ring 01202 778443 for more information (email: accommodation@evans.connectfree.co.uk)

Kirkway Bed & Breakfast

Frances Evans offers a twin bedded room at 17 Kirkway at £20 per night per person, including full English breakfast. For 2 nights or more the rate is reduced to £18 per night. Ring 01202 691579 for full details.

Honey Lodge is at 41 Dunyeats Road and Mrs Laycock assures visitors of a warm friendly welcome in their family home. She offers immaculate ground floor ensuite 'rooms, with private access and every home comfort. She guarantees an excellent breakfast with extensive choice. There is safe parking and it is a non smoking home. Full details are shown in the current Poole Guide and the English Tourism Council (ETC) has awarded it a four diamond classification. Full details of Tarven's facilities are shown on page 58 of The Complete Guide 2002-2003. Mrs Marion Browning has also produced a leaflet which describes her large Tudorstyle house, which is set in beautiful grounds of about one acre. "Tarven" is situated in Corfe Lodge Road and full details or the descriptive leaflet can be obtained by phoning 01202 694338. Mrs Browning offers flexible meal times to suit guests, including early breakfast for ferry passengers. A full three course dinner is available, and the regular return of her guests testifies to her considerable culinary skills in a comfortable and homely atmosphere.

Weston Cottage

6 Macaulay Road, Broadstone 699638

Weston Cottage is only 100m from the village centre convenient for shops and buses. We are 5 minutes away from Poole and only 10 minutes to the car ferry to Cherbourg/Channel Islands.

Weston Cottage is an Edwardian house of character and has been renovated to a high standard. A 4 diamonds standard has been awarded by the English Tourist Board. A twin and double room on the ground floor both with en suite offers the guest their own privacy yet they can be involved in family if they so wish.

We offer a 4 course comprehensive healthy eating continental breakfast which is very popular with our guests. This can be taken in the conservatory, outside on the decking or in the round room (weather permitting).
