We held our Open Day in York Road, Broadstone on 3rd October 2000 which was strongly supported, especially by local people. Since then classes and lessons have grown, still with many local members, but also from surrounding areas of Poole and Bournemouth.

We hold medal test sessions four times a year. Our members find it improves their standard, increases confidence and gives a sense of achievement. We also enter some medallist competitions where we have had some very good results. These give another dimension to the hobby of Ballroom and Latin dancing.

We teach all ages, but we have a strong contingent of Under 21’s who are enthusiastic and are good supporters of our studio. Parkstone and :Poole Grammar Schools have asked us to run a number of courses at their schools, which are well attended and create a lot of interest. Many of the students have continued their dancing.

We have recently had a new dance floor laid and this has given the studio a ‘new look’.

We enjoy supporting local charity events. Since opening, Broadstone Dance Studio has given a display for St. Johns Church in Broadstone, a display for a charity organisation held outside Sainsbury’s in Poole (where it rained throughout!) and this summer we have been asked to give another dance display for St. Johns Church. Our members get much pleasure from joining in on dance events - whether it is a fancy dress party we are holding - or dancing in the rain for charity!

Our classes are run in a relaxed and fun atmosphere, without losing the importance of achieving a good standard of dancing.
