THE BROADSTONE CHURCHES

You will have received a Christmas card from the Broadstone Churches reminding you of the real joy that lies at the heart of this season, the joy in God sharing our life in Christ so that we might share His life. Increasingly the Churches seek to work together in Broadstone, as elsewhere.

This working together will be particularly evident during Lent which begins this year on 9th February, Ash Wednesday. There will be the usual Lent Lunches at St. John's Church Hall on Wednesdays, beginning on Ash Wednesday, with proceeds going to Christian Aid. We are also planning a series on Thursday evenings, 17th February to 17th March inclusive, some at the Methodist Church and others at St. Anthony's, taking a fresh look at Our Lord's Ministry as portrayed in the Gospels. The local clergy and ministers will lead these sessions at which there will be time for comments and questions. We shall seek to highlight the Jewish background of Jesus' Ministry. Nowadays when many people seem willing to believe all sorts of groundless nonsense purveyed in sensational paperbacks, it is more important than ever to return to the Gospels to learn about Jesus, His message and His mission. Watch out for more details of these events in the near future.
