Not many signs of it otherwise, some sad looking crocus, some very shy primroses, and, when the sun is shining the first optimistic bumblebees. At present the environment is dominated by 'Foot and Mouth', though luckily we have very few domestic animals round here. We do however have quite a number of deer, which hopefully will not need culling. As for local groups:- Rangers at Durlston Country Park will be looking for the first migrants, and details of walks and watches can be obtained from the number given below. The friends of Broadstone Nature Reserve will be working on the Reserve The last of this seasons RSPB boat trips, to see what's in the harbour is on 25th Mar 11.00am. (Tel 01929 462383 for details). The group meet regularly once a month for a talk or discussion Tel 697325) The local DWT group has work parties on Upton Heath. (Thurs 8th, and Poole Countryside are running a guided walk on Canford Heath on 4th March - 14.00 at Francis Avenue.
