Events still concentrating on birds or burning. Not a lot to see, but foxes could be making plenty of noise this month. Roe deer are in their dark winter coats and hard to spot. Some less familiar birds around, particularly as the colder weather has driven field residents into the urban area. Seen several grey wagtails on the golf course, not very near water. No guided local walks, but two Sunday morning watches at Durlston. Next Bird Boat is on 10th FEB, - 'cos I missed this month's. Conservation tasks within a ten mile band, are being run by English Nature, Dorset Conservation Volunteers, Friends of Broadstone Nature Reserve (FBNR) and DWT. Numbers are given at the end. FBNR also hold their annual get together on 15th Jan.
So for a while Happy new Year, from Dudley Hull See the Broadstone Environment main page for information on this organisation. Say you saw it on "Broadstone NET"
