BROADSTONE EVENING WOMENS INSTITUTE
Broadstone Evening WI meets on the first Tuesday of every month except August at 7.30pm at the War Memorial Hall in Tudor Road, Broadstone.
We have a membership of over 60 and usually about 50 of our members attend our monthly meetings, when we have speakers on a huge variety of subjects to interest everyone, and an opportunity to sign up for our events and get to meet friends over refreshments.
In between, we run various special interest groups - rambling, craft, two book clubs (a morning and an evening one) and a skittles team. From time to time we hold special one-day craft classes, and we arrange lunch parties, dinners and outings by coach or car to places of interest or theatres. Every year in Spring we organise a 'House Party' rambling holiday to different locations for four days.
As well as all our own events, we belong to the Women's Institute's Dorset Federation, whose activities this year include golf croquet, pottery, baking for local events, a games evening, a fossil hunting expedition, a day at the Ascot races, a County Quiz between Institutes and a classical music concert.
