|Broadstone Residents' Association AGM - June 2001|
The Executive Committee met on the 23rd June to discuss current events, and to reflect on the AGM in May.
As usual in mid-summer, there were a number of members absent on holiday, and our guest Councillor, Annette Brooke was unavoidably absent in Westminster. Congratulations!
There was discussion about the Toastrack, and the Association will be producing a voting sheet (for the three cost affordable possible solutions) to be issued in our Summer Magazine.
Another parking issue that has emerged is the fact that due to extra all-day parking in Brookdale Close, the Refuse Collectors cannot get their lorry into the road. Presumably it would be as difficult for a fire engine!
Planning. It looks certain that the Duke of York pub will transform into six bungalows and work has started on the 113-117 York Road site. The Summer issue of the Magazine will be distributed after 2nd August.
The next meeting of the Local Area Committee takes place on 3rd July, with general traffic problems, and the Ashington Railway cutting on their Agenda.
